Our Research
Matsuno Lab explores how to build safe systems for the next generation and how to put AI to practical use, with software engineering, reliability, and security at the core.
01 Software We study how apps and web services are built and look for better ways to develop them. The 3rd-year seminar and the development seminar also cover this area through team development and app building. Learn more 02 Reliability We organize the reasons a system can be called truly safe and trustworthy, together with the evidence behind them. In the 4th-year & master's seminar, this is covered through topics such as automated driving and safety arguments. Learn more 03 Security We study how to find weaknesses in binaries without source code, applications running on TEEs, and email-sending infrastructure, and how far those findings can be trusted. Our work spans both LLM-based analysis and Internet-scale measurement. Learn more 04 Fashion AI We use AI to structure how a person's appearance comes across, supporting fashion analysis and suggestions for flattering styles. Our goal is to back up analysis that tends to rely on subjective judgment with explanations and evidence. Learn more 05 Collaborations We work with companies, other institutions, and local communities on real-world problems. Together with our partners, we build systems that are useful to society, in areas such as education support, AI applications, and disaster prevention. Learn more
