    How ease of development and software quality go hand in hand.

    Software is never finished once it ships; it keeps changing. We closely observe the flow of design, implementation, testing and review, and study mechanisms that help developers improve their code with confidence.

    Building confidence through specification, verification and testing.

    For critical systems, simply working is not enough. Using formal methods and testing techniques, we explore ways to build software that holds up even in unexpected situations.

    Making security part of everyday development.

    Vulnerabilities cannot be fully prevented by a final inspection alone. We study mechanisms that let developers notice issues naturally during development, secure coding practices, and the use of supporting tools.
